Loved, remembered, and deeply missed

Noya Sharabi was born on October 1, 2007, in Kibbutz Be’eri — the eldest daughter of Lian and Eli, and the big sister to Yahal.
She was a curious and mature girl who loved visiting her grandmother in Tel Aviv and cooking with her.
Noya grew up in a warm home that blended two cultures — English and Israeli — and she moved naturally between them: quiet manners and inner calm alongside open hearts, a kitchen filled with aromas, and music playing in the background.

At school, she studied in the “Afarsek” (Peach) class. Her teachers saw her as a diligent, responsible student, and her friends knew her as someone who listened — a girl who always noticed who needed a smile, a kind word, or a bit of care.

She was also a member of the HaNo’ar HaOved VeHaLomed youth movement, where she found a community of friendship, solidarity, and giving — values that guided her in every part of her life.

At age fourteen, Noya chose to volunteer with children who struggled at school.
It wasn’t a school assignment but a moral choice — to be present for those who needed help.
She also volunteered at a home for people on the autism spectrum.
Her dream was to work with children — to become a kindergarten teacher or social worker who could hold a class with a gentle, steady hand.

Noya was a gifted writer. She wrote birthday cards, farewell words for memorial ceremonies, and small notes for the people she loved — always with clarity and sensitivity. She had a rare ability to express deep emotions in simple words and was often the emotional anchor for those around her.

Music was part of her world. She loved going to concerts with friends, and in the summer before the tragedy, the family attended a performance by Hanan Ben Ari — a singer beloved by them all.

She shared a room, secrets, and songs with her sister Yahal.
Sometimes she was the calm that balanced her sister’s energy; other times, the one who burst into laughter until tears. Together, they filled the house with light.

Noya loved nature. She especially loved sunsets — the ones over Be’eri were her favorite. Those quiet moments between day and night were, for her, a time for reflection and dreaming. She often talked with her friends about traveling the world, and before Sukkot 2023, they were planning a trip to Sinai — a trip that never came to be.

On the morning of October 7, 2023, Noya was at home with her family. When the sirens began, they entered the shelter.
Later that day, contact was lost. When they were found, She,  Lian and Yahel were together — mother and daughters in one final embrace.
Noya was just sixteen years old. She is remembered as a girl of grace and quiet strength — the one who would rest a hand on your shoulder, bring light with her calm presence, and believe that even the smallest act of kindness can change someone’s world forever.

May her memory be a blessing.
